The primary function of a slip on flange: used to connect pipes, valves, fittings, or other equipment in a piping system. The slip-on flange slides over the pipe end and is welded both on the inside and outside to create a secure, leak-proof joint. Ideal for applications requiring easy alignment, as the slip-on flange can slide over the pipe, making it simpler to position compared to weld neck flanges. This is useful in systems with frequent assembly/disassembly or tight spaces. Used in temporary piping setups or non-critical systems where high strength or resistance to cyclic loading is not required, as slip-on flanges have lower strength compared to weld neck flanges.
